Deadfall Adventures Heads for Playstation

No longer Xbox exclusive

Written by Punkyliar  yesterday at 23:07

Announced just before E3 2012, Deadfall Adventures took a further 18 months to reach retailer shelves. The catch was that the title remained exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC. This will no longer be the case. Eight months after the game was initially released, the action-adventure title has been confirmed to be heading to the Playstation 3 as Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis.

Set in the late 1930's, players take on the role of James Lee Quatermain. His great-grandfather was renowned explorer Allan Quatermain (of the H.R. Haggard novels), although James resents the legacy left by his great-grandfather and finds the Quatermain name more of a curse than a blessing. However, Allan's research is needed by James' former colleague Jennifer Goodwin as she and her agency attempts to recover an ancient artefact, The Heart of Atlantis, from a trap-riddled Egyptian temple. Motivated by the monetary reward, James joins them on the hunt, but they're not alone. Nazi occultists want to find the artefact for their own evil motives, but their efforts have only resulted in awakening an ancient evil that is determined to stop everybody in their tracks.

Players will journey across the deserts of Egypt, the icy wastelands of the Arctic and Guatemalan jungles as they battle enemies of the natural and supernatural kind. The game is part first-person shooter although the main focus is on solving puzzles to unblock the way forward, or avoid certain death via something like a spiky pit of doom.

The new Playstation 3 version will include a variety of improvements to the gameplay mechanics:

• Fully upgraded gameplay and graphics;
• New location and secrets to explore;
• Exclusive Survival/Co-op DLC mode with two additional maps for PS3™ owners;
• New boss fights;
• New cut-scenes and improved visuals of original ones;
• Improved leveling system;
• Completely new notepad system;
• New flashlight burst attack;
• And much more!

If you're wondering on what you missed out, Deadfall Adventures: Heart of Atlantis will be released digitally for Playstation 3 this summer.
