Destiny is responsible for PS4 sales in the UK more than tripling week-on-week, seeing Sony's console outsell the Xbox One 2:1.
MCV cites an unnamed source as confirming the numbers, though no solid figures were produced. This means last week was the biggest week of the year for PS4 hardware sales in the UK, something we've also seen happen in North America.
Despite being outsold, it's important to note Microsoft also enjoyed a rise in sales week-on-week thanks to Destiny's launch, though the agreement that saw Bungie's shooter bundled and marketed alongside PS4 consoles clearly paid dividends. It wasn't just confined to next-gen consoles either, with PS3 hardware sales trumping those of Xbox 360 for a change.
Seeing as Microsoft has its own marketing deals with EA and Activision for FIFA 15 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare respectively, the company will have a chance to even the playing field sooner rather than later.
Activision announced earlier this week that Destiny is the best-selling new game franchise of all time, raking in more than $325 million USD during the shooter's first five days of release. The Bungie title also got off to a big start in the UK as well. In case you missed it earlier today, you can get a look at the content heading to the game later this month.
