Sony has announced PlayStation 4 System Software Update 2.50, codenamed "Yukimura", will be available from tomorrow morning.
The highly-anticipated patch is set to add a range of features, including the Suspend/Resume feature, which enables you to suspend your game by putting the PS4 in Rest Mode and then quickly resuming where you left off by pressing the PlayStation button on the controller to wake the system, thus avoiding loading times.
Update 2.50 will also let you back-up and restore your hard disc to and from an external USB drive. This includes settings, saved data, screenshots and video clips as well as games, patches and download data.
On the social front, you'll be able to search for Facebook Friends who link their accounts, which enables Friend and Real Name requests to be sent simultaneously. A new "Friends Who Play This" section on each game detail page will show who you know playing it, and also who's doing so currently. Screenshots will automatically be captured when you earn a Trophy too, and you'll now be able to sort the Trophy list by “Earned Date,” “Not Earned,” and “Grade,” and you'll finally be able to remove games from the Trophy list that have zero percent completion.
Sony is also adding a huge range of accessibility options for a number of disabilities. 60 fps support is also coming for Remote Play and Share Play for games that support it, system software updates will be able to be installed automatically, sub-accounts can upgrade to master accounts and game industry professionals will be able to get badges so you know they're Verified. Finally, you'll be able to upload video clips directly to Dailymotion using the Share button.
