Last year, Gamescom 2014, the first teaser to a game called Hellblade was revealed. Nothing more, nothing less. I was hyped! Gamescom's press conferences ended, and the first thing I did was to research all about this game. Hellblade is, as the developers at Ninja Theory call it, a indipendent AAA game. You will take control of Senua, a skilled sword-wielder with a mission unknown... until the new E3 trailer arrived today!
Senua, with her mental illness, is on the way to fight off the darkness, going through hell. The game is set in a celtic, nordic world that seems to be desolate, Senua feels alone in this world, still she will find many monstrous creatures straight from other dimensions to fight against. Ninja Theory is taking inspiration from horror and psychodelic drama flicks like George Orwell’s 1984, or George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Even artists like Olivier de Sagazan (watch his eerie, terrifying videos on YouTube, crazy stuff) had a big influence on the enemies' designs. But who am I to tell you things you could easily see for yourself in the trailer right here:
I am down with this game from the day I saw the first trailer at Gamescom 2014. This year they give us this gameplay trailer, in which you get a notion of how the fighting system is built. I will definitely pick this title up day one. How about you? Are you up going through Senua's nightmares watching the scene from her point of view? I am!
The game, that runs on the Unreal Engine 4, will come to PlayStation 4 and PC and will be published by Ninja Theory themselves, maybe this year, maybe next.
JerriKoe - Game on!
