New Headset for PS4 Coming This December

Announced today on the PlayStation Blog by James Olivier, the PlayStation 4 gets the new In-ear Stereo Headset with built-in microphone and noise-reducing AudioShield technology. The recommended retail price is set to £77.99/€89.99 and will be available in December.

What exactly AudioShield is Olivier describes it like "every journey, from epic gaming adventures to your daily commute, becomes free from unwanted noise and distraction. Simply power up the AudioShield to experience increased immersion as you go deeper into the game-world, and enjoy uninterrupted audio every time you listen to music."

However, the noise-reducing technology needs to be charged after a 15-hour-usage of the headset. A microphone is built-in that lets you chat with your friends in party chat but also for other devices like your smartphone or a tablet. A mute switch, an in-line call button, and volume buttons are all integrated in the headset.

Three different sizes for the interchangeable ear-tips are included while the 13mm speakers are "producing deep bass audio." You can use the headset really anywhere you can find a normal headphone jack. Also included is a pouch to store and carry your new headset outside.

"The In-ear Stereo Headset for PS4 launches in the UK and Ireland from 4th December and across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and Africa from 9th December."
