We all know that christmas is a time for giving, blah blah blah, but why never really know what we want to ask for. So, we normally end up with socks.
What about gaming wise though? We've made a list of different games you should probably try to get hold of this year.
1. Dishonored 2:
It doesn't quite have the same charm as it's predecessor, but the ability to play as two seperate characters, each with their own skill sets and powers is what truly brings this front and centre, standing out from the sequel crowd.
Emily's powers, although similar in some respects, are very different in others. She can link enemies together, kill one and they all die the same way at the same time. You may argue this makes it easier, but links break every so often and you can only do a certain number at a time.
2. Last Gaurdian (PS4 Only)
This game has been delayed so many times, we've lost count. But quite honestly, this game looks to be the best exclusive released so far. It has a huge following for a new IP, and already looks 100% more entertaining than The Order 1886, but that's not difficult.
3. Battlefield 1:
Numbered to confuse us, this is a stand alone game from the others. Where we have been battling in modern conflicts and made up scenarios in most of Battlefields more recent history, this takes us back to World War 1 (which takes the confusion away, when you out two and two together).
The campaign is fragmented in to different stories and different battles, really giving you the feel for how horrible and confined the conditions were.
The multiplayer is also a HUGE step up from Battelfield 4, which you may find surprising.
4. Mafia 3:
If you haven't played this already, where have you been? Unlike Dishonored, it isn't as good as it's predecessor, Mafia 2, but stil contains 2's legendary protagonist Vito in it's bones.
Mafia 3 is a story of revenge, which doesn't sound all that interesting, until you start building your own crime family. Some aspects of it can feel over used at times. Every racket you take down does feel a tiny bit repetitive, but you can always just go around town creating havok for no reason as a time out.
5. Watch_Dogs 2:
This gave us a shock. A Watch_Dogs game worth playing? Most of you know of my (Solace) hatred of the first protagonist and THAT ending!
Having gone in to the sequel with an open mind, you find that this city is more vibrant, more entertainimg and just so much more iteresting to explore. It helps that Marcus is a character with personality, rather than Aiden's blank icy stares, even when he was happy.
He missions are alot easier to play, also, with much more hacking freedom and new hacking toys to play with, including Six Siege's little spybots ivaluable during multiplayer, this truly is a game worth picking up.
6. Forza Horizon 3 (Xbox One Only):
The best game in the series so far. Best played with friends, so get them to add it to their lists as well.
7. Final Fantasy VX:
At the time of writing, I'm the only reviewer not to play this (I'm getting it for christmas), everything I've heard has pointed this to being the best in the series so far, as it doesn't require you knowing the story of the other 14 to play.
